He was predeceased by: his parents, Murry Lee Burnett and Ruth Caroline Furr Burnett; and his siblings, Elizabeth Starnes, Melvin and Floyd Burnett.
He is survived by: his wife Patty Jo Wilhelm Burnett; his children, Sherri Timonere (Paul) of Concord and Earl W. Burnett, Jr. (Nanette) of Kannapolis; his granddaughter April Simpson (Matt); and his great grandchild Ivey Simpson.
