Dorothy Louise Perez McBride Obituary
Our Beautiful Mother Dorothy L. McBride (age 82) peacefully transitioned from her earthly body into her Heavenly forever body on March 7th, 2023. She anxiously anticipated her homegoing where she joined Jesus, her beloved husband Ronald J. Mc Bride, her grandson Joseph A. Baca and her sisters Natalie, Rosalie and Paulette, among others who have entered the kingdom of Heaven.
Mom was married to our Dad Ronald J. McBride who passed on Sept. 12, 2011. They shared their lives in Colorado and Indiana and were blessed with 4 children, Barbara Gene Trujillo (Dennis) San Antonio, TX, Danette I. Austin (Phillip) Concord, NC, Ronald L. McBride (Kim) Columbus OH and Mathew L. McBride (Stacy). They also had 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Mom also leaves behind to cherish precious memories with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends who became family, many students and her 2 best dogs (Lucy and Ethel).
Mom enjoyed a long career as a baker, cake decorator and teacher of her many talents. Among those talents were sewing (she could and did) make her own patterns, teaching cake decorating, painting (watercolors, acrylic and one stroke), crocheting, flower making, chocolate making, floral design, wreath making, bead making and numerous other crafts. She thoroughly enjoyed sharing her many talents with anyone eager to learn and always looked forward to our yearly gingerbread making parties. Everyone who knew Mom, knew she loved celebrating everything!
Mom moved to Concord, NC 1 year after dad's passing and made so many new and rewarding relationships. She was member of 3 different churches in NC, until she decided on her forever church, Gethsemane Baptist Church (the little church with a big Heart) located at 480 Lloyd Garmon Ln, Concord, NC 28025. Her church family blessed Mom beyond all deserving! Pastor Bob Tallent will be conducting her funeral on March 25.
Thank you ALL for the prayers and support during this most difficult time. Our mom was so excited to know she was going to be with Jesus and reunite with my dad and Joseph. She was absolutely glowing with excitement!
Mom had been on peritoneal dialysis since COVID took out her kidneys early in 2020. She decided she had had enough and accepted she wasn't going to get any better in this world. The wonderful ladies from Davita Dialysis Center at 3310 Perry St, Concord, NC 28027 gave such amazing support and love to both her and Danette.
She had been in hospice for 2 weeks before she passed and blessed us with 7 amazing days of complete alertness, happiness, joy, peace and comfort. Tucker Hospice House provided the most amazing care for all of us while she was there. We will never be able to express our deepest appreciation to all the angels who assisted us with her transition.
For only the 4th time in over 30+ years, ALL 4 of her children were able to be with her, along with 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She allowed us to be at peace with her passing. What a glorious gift to us ALL.
Our mom was the most amazing woman and devoted to us and to Jesus our Lord and savior and she anxiously looked forward to being in the kingdom of Heaven. Once there, she was able to meet Jesus, our dad, Joseph and her sisters. To say she was eager, would be an understatement. She lived her life on earth, eager to share her talents and her love of the Lord.
Services will be held at Lady's Funeral Home on March 25th, 2023. Pastor Bob Tallent will be conducting her funeral on March 25. Funeral will be held from 5 to 6 pm EST and Celebration of life will be held from 6 to 8 pm EST. Attendees will have an opportunity to share their memories of mom, while enjoying snacks, drinks and desserts.
Please consider sharing your memories and for those who aren't able to attend or feel uncomfortable, please send any memories you would like to share to her daughter Danette at [email protected] and these will be compiled and shared during her celebration of life. Please feel free to share both memories, as well as any photos.
ALL we can say now is: "His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.". Matthew 25:23 King James Version (KJV).
