He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Watson and Gulah Wilkerson Watson; his wife Lorine Brown Watson; his son Donald W. Watson, Jr.; his grandsons, Zachary Thomas Watson and Brandon Scott Goodson; and his siblings, Janice W. Helms and Larry Dean Watson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Teressa W. Wingler (Tim) of Boiling Springs, SC, Michelle W. Forsyth (Randall) of Kannapolis and Jackie Watson of Kannapolis; his grandchildren, Taylor, Morgan Wingler, Faith Watson, Junior Forsyth and Daziah Ortiz; and his sister Shirley Johnson of Pageland. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
