He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Oneil and Doris Edna Hawkins Steele; his wife Joyce Steele; and his sister Bobbie Goodnight. He is survived by: his son Randy Steele (Holly) of Kannapolis; his grandson Trent Steele of Kannapolis; and his siblings, Mike Steele and Pat Payne.
