He is survived by: his nephew Timothy Blakeney; his great-niece Erica Blakeney of Memphis, TN; his son Derek Blakeney Jr. of Greenville, SC; his grandchildren, Eric Blakeney and Raegan Blakeney; his siblings, Samuel Blakeney of Kannapolis, NC, Assadullah Shabazz "Sam Adams" of Queens, NY and Karen Blakeney of Kannapolis, NC; and his close friend Martha "Bob" Parker. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
