He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Calvin Plyler and Charlotte Faye Gauldin Plyler; his wife Julia Honeycutt Plyler; and his brother Calvin Plyler. He is survived by: his sisters, Lisa Efird of Kannapolis and Sarah Plyler of Salisbury; and his stepchildren, Jerrica Honeycutt-Bullock of Virginia and Zack Honeycutt of Georgia. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
