He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Caroline Hartgen and Vincent Andrew Hartgen. He is survived by: his wife Linda M. Simpson; his daughter Alice D. LaBarge (Daniel G.); his granddaughters, Alicia and Elizabeth LaBarge of Watervliet, NY; his stepchildren, Frank M. Simpson (Elizabeth) of Durham, NC and Liesl Ganes (Jason) of Raleigh, NC; his brother Stephen A. Hartgen (Linda); his nieces, Rachel F. Hartgen of Denver, CO and Tiffany Paisley of Colorado Springs, CO; his uncle George Lubanda of Orono, ME; and his friends, Arthur, Linda Taylor, Brenda Perry, Jack, Dianne Sommer, Robert, Nancy Zampieri, Walter and Linda Holden.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to donate to the Katahdin Council, Boy Scouts of America, Orono, ME 04473; Hebron Academy, Hebron, ME; or the charity of the donor's choice.
