He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Pethel and Louise Albertson Pethel; and his brothers, Ronnie Pethel and Kelly Smith. He is survived by: his wife Shelby Humphries Pethel; his children, Jackie Pethel of Concord, Kelli Humphries of Kannapolis, Amber Pethel (Xavier) of Concord, Chris Pethel of China Grove and Steve Pethel (Tess) of China Grove; his grandchildren, Apryl Humphries, Kortnie Curl, Sir Watson, Sia Watson, Terrence Pethel and Ivey Pethel; and his great grandchildren, Malaya Archie, Kameron Bellamy, Ximena Elox, Margot Durham and Khambrel Buchanan.
