He is survived by: his wife Mary Ruth "Dollie" Swink Burgess; his children, Lynn Burgess (Frances) of Concord, Mark Burgess (Rhonda) of Kannapolis and Ruthie B. Woodward (Bennie) of China Grove; and his sisters, Carolyn Watson of Concord and Katherine Monday of Concord. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
