She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Pennell and Maebelle Pennell; her husband J. D. Donahue; and her grandson Carl Donahue. She is survived by: her children, Gary Donahue (Maxine) of Concord, Janet Donahue of Kannapolis and Susan Sheets (Gary) of Mooresville; her sister Lorene Barnes of Taylorsville; and her cousin Shelby Anderson of Kannapolis. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren.
