We are sad to announce that on June 9, 2020, at the age of 75, Alson Fortson (Kannapolis, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Geraldine Heath Fortson; his parents, Alson Edmon Fortson and Hester Bruce Fortson; and his siblings, Jeanette Torrence and Bruce Fortson.
He is survived by: his children, Darlene Barnwell (Albert) of Asheville, NC., Ed Fortson (Angie) of Kannapolis and Mary Beth Fortson of Rockwell, NC.; his siblings, Bertie Upright, Merle Upright, Donnie Smith, Brenda Brewer, Cindy Riley, Henry Fortson and Kenneth Fortson; and his grandchildren, Chad Barnwell, Jessi Froemming, Travis Fortson, Ashley Beam, Dylan Fortson, Corey Fortson and Landen Fortson.
His favorite place was fishing at the Outer Banks, in lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice to help restore and preserve the Outer Banks.
