He was predeceased by: his parents, William F. McGee and Sally Ann Burrow McGee; and his sisters, Annie Wishon, Margaret Carter and Cynthia McGee.
He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Ball; his children, Lisa Denise Davis (Ken) of Thomasville, Sherry Darlene McGee (Samuel McPherson) of Julian, Brittany Dawn Martin (David) of Pleasant Garden and Samuel Donald McGee Jr. of Julian; his siblings, Frances Cook of Trinity and James McGee of Asheboro; his grandchildren, Katherine Foti (Ray), Samantha McPherson and Davis Martin; and his great grandchildren, Miles and Rhett Foti.
