He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Llewellyn Whitaker and Wavie Lawson Whitaker; his wife Sarah Ann Rycroft Whitaker; and his sisters, Bonnie McNeil, Bessie Whitaker, Betty Spicer and Rosa Moon.
He is survived by: his sisters, Myrtle Pardue and Sandra (Curtis Hayes).
