He was predeceased by: his parents, Junior Tommy Whitaker and Betty Weatherman Whitaker; his sister Shirley Whitaker; and his brother-in-law Kenneth Pierce. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Pardue Whitaker; his son Matthew Whitaker; his stepsons, Daniel Cook and Michael Cook; and his siblings, Carol Tilley (Russell), Martha Pierce, Melissa Isaacs (Jonathan) and Larry Whitaker.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Victory Chapel Baptist Church (2641 NC-67, Jonesville, NC 28642). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
