Sallie Mae Ashley Obituary

We are sad to announce that on June 22, 2023, at the age of 94, Sallie Mae Ashley of Jonesville, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Weatherman and Dora Weatherman (Southard); her husband Aaron Dale Ashley; her son Dennis Ray Ashley; her daughter-in-law Donna Pardue Ashley; her siblings, Jack Weatherman, Mattie Gay Ashley, Carlene Edwards and Francis Wilson; and her stepfather J. D. Cheek.

She is survived by: her children, Janice Mitchell (Don), Sue Wagoner and Charles Ashley; her grandchildren, Melissa Choplin (James), Russ Ashley (Alisha), Jason Talley (Angie), Melanie Pollard (Joey), Molly Dillard (Greg), Tiffany Ashley, Christy Ashley, Michelle Vincent (Chris) and Heather Cassells (Cole); her great grandchildren, Aaron Ashley, Destiny Hayes, Brady Vincent, Hayden, Lillian Beck, Rhett, Caroline Cassells, Lauren Hunter (Kody), Brandon Anderson, Austin, Justin Choplin, Samuel Henson (Madi), Hannah Pollard, Chambers and Ayla Dillard; her great great grandchildren, Aaron Ashley, Jr., Owen and Easton Hunter; and her sisters-in-law, Versie Mendenhall, Era Vestal and Patty Swaim. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
