He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Rudy Abshire Sr. and Bethel Johnson Abshire; his adoptive father Albert Henry Holcomb (Jessie Pearl Stewart Holcomb); his wife Nancy Lucille Holcombe; his son J. W. (David); his stepson Columbus of Wilkes; his siblings, Gail Johnson (Arthur) of Indiana and Rudy Abshire Jr. (Debbie) of Kernersville; his close friend Sam Dixon of Yadkinville; and his sister-in-law Linda Childress of Surry. He was also cherished by 3 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Adams Funeral Home of Wilkes, P.O. Box 396 Moravian Falls, NC 28654 to help with final expenses.
