He is survived by: his children, Laura Elaine Wells Parker (Ken) of Elkin, Hiram Michael Wells (Shirley) of Asheville and Kenneth Lee Wells (Michelle) of Elkin; his grandchildren, Jonathan Douglas Parker (Taylor), Sarah Elaine Parker Atkinson (Ezra), Kenley Faith Wells (Dillon Whisenhunt), Marshall Lee Wells and Mattie Leigh Wells; his sisters, Dorothy Wells Rash (Rayford) and Pearl Wells Trivette; and his sister-in-law Alma Jean Wells.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Elkin Funeral Service (560 North Carolina 268 W, Elkin, NC 28621). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Elkin Funeral Service Chapel (560 North Carolina 268 W, Elkin, NC 28621). A burial was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 at the West Yadkin Baptist Church Cemetery (2929 US-21, Hamptonville, NC 27020).
