He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Evans and Ila Layne Evans of Center Road; and his siblings, Bobby Joe, Wilbur Evans and Frankie Evans Blackburn.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Cox Evans; his daughter Lora Layne Evans of Jonesville; his grandson Troy Layne Evans (Lindsay); his great grandchild Hunter Layne Evans of Leland, NC.; his siblings, Edward Evans, Allen Evans (Connie) and Katie Evans Shockley (Homer); and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Cox King and Billy Cox. He is also survived by extended family and loving friends.
Due to Covid concerns, a private memorial service will be held for family and close friends on Sunday, August 29th, 2021, at Shady Grove Baptist Church, Boonville, with burial to take place at Union Baptist Church, Traphill, NC.
