She was predeceased by: her parents, Wiley Howell and Ola Pennington Howell; her husband Zeb Darrell Barton; and her siblings, Barbara Richardson, John Howell and Joe Howell.
She is survived by: her children, Jeff Davis of Crumpler and Deborah Laney (Steve) of Hudson; her sisters, Wanda Shore of Jefferson and Rosa Lee St. John of Jefferson; her grandson Brian Shelton of Lenoir; her great grandchildren, Jordan, Peyton, Tatiana, Madelyn and Aiden; and her great great grandchild Freya. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
