He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Flahive and Nellie Ellen Cahill Flahive; and his siblings, John E., James, Daniel, Joseph, Jeremiah, Tim, Margaret, Mary, Irene and Cecilia.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Stevenson Flahive; his children, Daniel Flahive of Adams, Michael Flahive (Marsha) of Oklahoma and Barbara Pierce (Patrick) of Illinois; his stepchildren, Cathy Everhart (Michael) of West Jefferson, Kelly Schlanger (Brian) of Elmwood Park, Illinois and Thomas Busleta (Patrice) of Elmwood Park, Illinois; his grandchildren, Stephen Pierce (Heather), Michael Pierce, Christopher Pierce (Becky), Brian Pierce (Ashley), Maryann Pierce Racz (Mark), Wendy Flahive and Dawn Flahive; and his stepgrandchildren, Christina Busleta, Daniel Busleta, Lucas Everhart (Shelby), Lindsey Williams (Josh), Laci Hardin (Brandon), Colleen Schlanger, Noelle Thezan (Ryan) and Morgan Schlanger. He is also survived by nine step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
