He was predeceased by: his parents, Burton Wright and Barbara Goodwin Avery; and his wife Betty Lou Phillips Avery. He is survived by: his children, Allen Wayne Avery and Barbara Gordon of Lexington; his stepdaughters, Charlene Austin of Fleetwood and Marlene Wilson (Eric) of Boone; and his siblings, John Avery of Jefferson, Kirk Avery of Florida and Karen Solon (Manny) of Virginia. He is also survived by two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
