It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nell Howell (Jefferson, North Carolina), who passed away on August 20, 2019, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Calvin Atwood and Gladys McGuire Atwood; her husband John Howell; her grandson Sean Cerda; and her siblings, Jean Atwood, Faye Dunn, Rosella Shatley, Kenneth Atwood and Wade Atwood.
She is survived by: her children, David Howell (Shelia) of Lansing, Jimmy Howell (Christine) of Crumpler and Janet Schoppe (Donald) of Colfax; her siblings, Delbert Atwood, Barbara Barker of Jefferson and Maxine Friesland of West Jefferson; and her grandchildren, Michael Howell, Crystal Howell and Amanda Cruthis. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
