He is survived by: his wife Maxine Atwood Friesland; his children, Calvin Friesland (Taria) of Glade Valley and Wendy Friesland of Norwood; his sister Anna Lou Dishman of Lenoir; his grandchildren, Steven Roten (Alex) of Statesville, Aaron Roten of Norwood and Clara Friesland of Boone; and his great grandchildren, Madyson of Addison, A. J., Benjamin, Elizabeth and Samuel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ashelawn Memorial Chapel (3470 U. S. Hwy 221 N, Jefferson, NC 28640). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at the same location.
