He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Franklin and Betha Irene Lewis Gentry; his grandson Zach Gentry; and his brothers, John Gentry, Joe Gentry and Winfred Gentry.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Gentry (Pam) of Colorado and Teresa Woodie (Bob) of Crumpler; and his sisters, Imajean Stevens of Jefferson and Wanda Jones of Kernersville. He is also survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tri-State Baptist Children's Home.
