She was predeceased by: her parents, Quince McCoy and Lizzie Combs McCoy; her former husband Major Turnmire; her husband Riley Turnmire; her sons-in-law, Charlie Farmer and Darrell Holman; her grandchildren, Amanda, Shellie and Kellie Farmer; and her sister Martha Shepherd.
She is survived by: her children, Worth Turnmire of Sparta, Mary Farmer of Jefferson, Shelby Holman of Grassy Creek, Marie Goss (Tony) of Jefferson, Brenda Sheets of Jefferson, Laura Dillard (Bobby) of Crumpler and Linda Turnmire of Lansing; her stepchildren, Tim Roten (Alicia) of Jefferson, Mark Turnmire of West Jefferson and Penny Knobel (Rob) of Jefferson; and her siblings, Mary Latham of Wilkesboro and Everette McCoy of West Jefferson. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
