It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Lee Flanagan of Jefferson, North Carolina, born in Statesville, North Carolina, who passed away on March 11, 2023, at the age of 54, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Lee and Alice Faye Miller Flanagan; and his brother Pete Flanagan. He is survived by: his wife April Roop Flanagan; his children, Tori Flanagan of Jefferson, Emily Flanagan of Jefferson and Hawkens Flanagan (Hannah) of Michigan; his stepdaughter Heather Blevins of Baltimore, Maryland; his siblings, Stacy Flanagan of Crumpler, Tim Flanagan (Pat) of New Orleans, Louisiana and Robin Calhoun of West Jefferson; his mother-in-law Irma Roop of Whitetop, Virginia; his siblings-in-law, Tina Roop of Lansing, Brian Roop of Whitetop, Gordon Funk of Jefferson and Jeff Funk of Woodbridge, Virginia; and his grandchildren, Everly Flanagan and Emery Flanagan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
