She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Monroe Chesson and Dezzie Marie Phelps Chesson. She is survived by: her siblings, Marion Utterback, Emily Rhodes, Shirley Goff, Debra Chesson, Robert Chesson, Jimmie Chesson, Joseph Chesson and Jesse Chesson; her children, Robin D. Winslow (Thomas) of Jamesville, N. C. and Danny S. Alligood, Jr. of Roper, N. C.; her grandchildren, Allison Davenport (Kevin Burgess), Aaron Davenport (Jenny), Destiny Sullivan and Drake Alligood; her great grandchildren, Joseph Donnelly, Scarlett Davenport, Jackson Burgess and Riley Person; and her friend Robert Davenport.

“Mama, I miss you so much. I never imagined such pain. You taught me so much and you were the best mama anyone could hope to have. You loved your grandbabies and great grandbabies so good. They came in pairs with the ages, so it was a perfect gap between them to all get your love equally. They all love and miss you, Joseph and Scarlett both got one of your favorite pillows. It comforts them. Jackson and Riley know you are ok. I don't know how to move forward but I know you are happy. I love you.”
