He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Alfred Hardison and Fannie Elizabeth Modlin Hardison; and his former wife Betty Lou Jones Hardison. He is survived by: his son Michael Hardison of Jamesville; his grandson Austin Hardison of Washington; and his siblings, Donna H. Woolard of Belhaven, Allie Linda H. Haynes (John) of Washington, Etta H. Moseley (Robert) of Wendell and Wilmer Hardison (Danielle) of Jamesville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, stepchildren, and step grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607 (or their preferred method online) or the Jamesville Rescue Squad 1035 Hayes Drive, Jamesville, NC 27846.
