He is survived by: his wife Nelva Brooks Swinson; his children, Katherine Elks (David) of Corpus Christi, TX, Sylvia Barnhill (Wade) of Ashland, VA, Geraldine Bickers (Doug) of Youngsville, NC and John Swinson, Jr. of Cedar Rapids, IA; his grandchildren, Caleb, Ethan, Seth, Devin, Jonathan, Lydia, Sara and Daniel; and his great grandchildren, Ellie and Noah.
