He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Carl Griffin and Velma G. Griffin; and his sister Murl G. Lewis. He is survived by: his children, Sheri (Michael Green) and Joey; his wife Carolyn Lee Coltrain; his grandchildren, Anthony Copeland (Jesi), Paxton Trombley (Avery) and Hannah Copeland (Jimmy Strawderman); and his great grandchildren, Oliver Strawderman and Remi Copeland.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Jamesville Fire and EMS.
