He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Thomas and Marie Harden Gurkin. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Modlin Gurkin; his sons, Donald Gurkin, Jr. (Denice) of Greenville and Eric Gurkin (Lisa) of Jamesville; his grandchildren, Elliott Gurkin, Bryan Gurkin (Griffin), Connor Gurkin and Erica Gurkin; his great grandchildren, Hank, Julia and Virginia; and his brother Charles Gurkin (Katie) of Winston-Salem. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
