He was predeceased by: his father Richard K. Black; his former wife Mary Auman Black; and his siblings, Richard Black, Shirley Watson, Nell Leonard and Nancy Hedrick.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Lemons Black; his daughter Sandi Black Baxley (Tony Holder); and his siblings-in-law, Roger Lemons and Nancy Lemons Elmore. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
