He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Heavener and Annie Cannon Heavener; and his siblings, Howard Heavener, Bill Heavener, Lewis Heavener, Leonard Tate Heavener, Jr., Betty Joyce Lackey and Elise Peck McCarter.
He is survived by: his wife Carole Heavener; his son Larry "Rusty" Heavener, Jr. (Joelle) of Florida; his stepdaughters, Sheri Ward of Virginia and Teri Ward Rettman of Virginia; his grandchildren, Casey, Bailey and Miley Heavener; and his brother Jimmy Heavener.
