She was predeceased by: her parents, James Alexander and Kate Frazier Burney; her husband Paul Grayson Sanders; her grandson James Alexander Moore; her sister Margaret B. Brown; her half-sister Evelyn Wells; and her brothers, Bill Burney, James Burney and Jesse Burney.
She is survived by: her children, Sinda Eller (Mark) of Archdale and Gregory Dean Lemons of Jamestown; her sister Bessie B. Pitts of Castle Hayne; her grandchildren, Jason Lemons, Keith Lemons and Brandy Alvarez; and her great grandchildren, Victoria Alvarez, Roberto Alvarez, James Lemons, Xander Crawford, Gracie and Kierstyn.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Katherine's memory to Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, 5959 Hickory Grove Rd., Greensboro, NC 27409.
