He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thomas Ellis and Mabel Kemp Ellis; his wife Edie Ellis; and his grandson Harrison Morgan. He is survived by: his daughter Wilma Morgan; his grandchildren, Savanah, Madison Morgan and Jackson Morgan (Cassandra); his great grandchild Wesley Morgan; his stepdaughter Tonya Salazar (Victor); his grandchildren, Logan Paschall and Kristen Goldstein (James); his stepson Alex Delacruz; his grandchildren, Solita Delacruz-Ly, Cristallina Delacruz-Le and Benjamin Kim; and his siblings, Judy Williams (Bobby), Marilyn Essink, Ted Ellis and Don Ellis (Lee).
Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Changing Hearts Ministries (5393 Gum Branch Rd, Jacksonville, NC 28546). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery (110 Montford Landing Rd, Jacksonville, NC 28540).
