She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Lonnie McGowan and Shelley Webb McGowan; her husband James Thorpe "Jim" Gainey; her daughter Lisa Gainey; and her brothers, Junior McGowan and Bobby McGowan.
She is survived by: her children, James Thomas "Jimmy" Gainey (Amy), Scottie Gainey Presley and Teri Gainey Armstrong (Dave); her grandchildren, Mitchell Presley, Samantha Presley, Emma Gainey, Katie Armstrong and Lisa Armstrong (Charlotte); and her sisters-in-law, Betty Gainey, Melissa Gainey, Judy Cates and Alice McGowan. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
