He was loved and cherished by many people including: his sons, John Cooper, Jr. and Ricky Cooper (Nadeen) of Glennville, Georgia; his grandchildren, Derrick Young, Ashley Allen (Tony), Brianna Tucker (Devyn), Ray'Quan Heard, Siarah Cooper, Dariuse Cooper and Ricky Cooper, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Levi, Roman, Remy, Raylyn, Riley, Riyah and Maverick; his siblings, Dennis Cooper, Lillian Simmons, Patricia Mack and Marie Hill; and his caregiver Diane Hayes.
Viewing was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the Church Viewing Begins (432 1st Ave, Trenton, NC 28585). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. Stephen Coc Doc Church. The military honors was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery (110 Montford Landing Rd, Jacksonville, NC 28540).
