It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Catherine Philyaw of Jacksonville, North Carolina, who passed away on February 16, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John David Philyaw and Lydia Cottle Philyaw; her husband Joseph Linwood North Sr.; and her siblings, Bertie Mae Midyette, Wilford Philyaw, Raymond Philyaw, Bobby Philyaw and Margaret Louis Philyaw.
She is survived by: her children, Jo Ann North Clark (David) of Rocky Mount and Joseph Linwood North, Jr. (Francina "Kay") of Jacksonville; her sisters, Alma Lee Mitchell of Havelock and Carolyn Millinder of Maysville; her grandchildren, Heather Hines Todd (Joe) of Elm City, Courtney Hines Cunningham (Ryan) of Lexington and Robin Jefferies Webb (Ted) of Jacksonville, NC; her great grandchildren, Jacob Todd, Abigail Cunningham, Lydia Cunningham, RJ Cunningham, Ryan Webb (Nicole) and Hannah Webb; and her great great grandchild Riley Webb.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home of Jacksonville Saturday (303 Chaney Ave, Jacksonville, NC 28540). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Onslow Memorial Park (3280 Richlands Hwy, Jacksonville, NC 28540).
