He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess Brown and Guscelia Morgan Brown; his siblings, Hugh Robert, Fred (Leola), George (Helen), Delos (Phyllis), Hammie, Clarence Brown (Jackie) and Bonnie Cogdill (TC); and his brother-in-law Carl Stanford.
He is survived by: his wife Priscilla "Sally" Brown; his children, Genia "Chum" Parris (Johnny) of Cullowhee, Pam Middleton (Chuck) of Sylva and Rev. Avery Brown (Laura); his close friend Dusty of Sylva; and his grandchildren, Jason Parris (Sarah) of Cullowhee, Jacob Parris (Bethany) of Highlands, Tuck and Bristol Brown of Sylva.
In lieu of flowers, "do a good deed for your neighbor" in memory of Gene Brown.
