He was loved and cherished by many people including: his significant other Joyce E. Bowser; his children, Sheryl Peterson Hardy (Minister Dexter Hardy, Sr) of Suffolk, Virginia, Daryl Peterson (Sarah) of Rocky Mount, Kendra Epps (Keenyn) of Knightdale and Gregory Johnson of Roanoke Rapids; his niece Gwendolyn M. Bowser of Rich Square; his grandchildren, Kristopher, Jayden, Dexter, Jr., Sydney, Kimberly, Margarita and Gregory, Jr.; his siblings, James Roger Peterson (Evelyn) of Rich Square, Fannie Mae Cumbo of Rich Square and Veronica Jones (Donnell) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and his siblings-in-law, Eugene Bowser (Alice), Virginia Cherry of Rich Square and Willie Mae Bowser of Rich Square. He was also cherished by loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
