She was predeceased by: her parents, Rudolph Mallard and Evie Inez Garrison Mallard; and her son Earl Keith Chappell. She is survived by: her husband Earl Wayne Chappell; her daughter Tammy Poland (David); and her granddaughter Jessica Poland Majors (Austin). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Richmond County, 1119 N US Hwy 1, Rockingham, NC 28379.
