Veatrice DeVane Smith Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Veatrice DeVane Smith of Ivanhoe, North Carolina, who passed away on February 3, 2025 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Veatrice DeVane shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Veatrice DeVane farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband James Edward Smith; and her daughters, Mary Anderson (David) of Mitcheville, MD and Kinny Newkirk of Upper Marlboro, MD.. She was also cherished by her family, friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Dunn Funeral Home Chapel (810 W Wilmington St, Burgaw, NC 28425). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Royal Chapel Missionary Baptist Church (7660 Ivanhoe Rd, Harrells, NC 28447).
