He was predeceased by: his parents, Lela Carol Herring and William Herring of Ivanhoe; his son Fred Herring; and his siblings, Chevis Herring, Ernest Herring, Amey Herring, Remolia Callaway, Robert Lee Herring, Sadie Newkirk and Nell Beatty.
He is survived by: his sister Macie Bennerman of Ivanhoe, NC. He is also survived by grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
