She is survived by: her children, Joseph E. Tate, Jr. of Iron Station, Tanja Edwards of Newton and Kim Upchurch (Mike) of Sherrills Ford; her sisters, Gay Goodson of Maiden and Tanis Lanier (Reggie) of Lincolnton; her siblings-in-law, John Freeman of Franklinton, NC, Howard Tate (Martha) of Chapel Hill, NC, Cheryl Wilson of Catawba, Lil Tate of Aiken, SC and Alma Garrett of Belmont, NC.; her grandchildren, Haley Edwards Beech (Jason) of Newton, Justin Edwards (Rose) of Maiden, Clint Upchurch of Charlottesville, VA and Caleb Upchurch of Winston Salem; her great grandchildren, Landon, Gabriel Beech, Madison, Riley and Dylan Edwards; and her son Joe.
