He was predeceased by: his mother Lizzie Vassey Hayes; his daughter Glenda Kaye Vassey; his sister Barbara Howard; his son-in-law Johnny Mace; and his brother-in-law Dennis Parker.
He is survived by: his stepfather Carl Hayes; his wife Eulene Nichols Vassey; his children, Gaile Mace and Amanda Hudson; his sister Virginia Parker; his granddaughters, Tabitha Engle (Joel), Erin Fisher, Jessica Hudson and Michelle Hudson; and his great grandchildren, Peighton Wilson, Jocelyn Engle, Reilly Hudson, Mallory Decker, Brantley Engle, Graham Engle, Imaru Hudson, Mickey Decker and Toby Decker.
