She was predeceased by: her parents, Roland Craig Ballard, Sr. and Lelia Florine Bynum Ballard. She is survived by: her husband Harold Franklin Smith; her children, Brad Smith (Deanna), Lea Ann Edwards (Al) and Chris Miller (Monty); her grandchildren, Brittany Smith (Chris), Andrea Bratt (Landon), Alicia Lever (Davis) and Lindsey Carper (Noah); her great grandchildren, Peyton, Braylee, Coraline and Nolan; and her sister Linda Saunders. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Alexis Baptist Church (118 Alexis Church Rd, Alexis, NC 28006). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Alexis Baptist Church Cemetery (118 Alexis Church Rd, Alexis, NC 28006).
