She was predeceased by: her parents, Thurman S. Lewis and Wilma Hurley Lewis; her sons, Jeffrey Thomas Helms and Kelly Wayne Sipes; and her sisters, Inez Lewis Booth and Eurline Lewis Martin.

She is survived by: her spouse Thomas Washington "Tom" Helms.

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Cokesbury United Methodist Church (6701 Idlewild Rd, Charlotte, NC 28212). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
