He was predeceased by: his parents, Hulon Ardell Simmons and Madge Efird Simmons; and his grandson Justin Simpson. He is survived by: his wife Frances Lambert Simmons; his daughters, Pam Simmons Simpson (Bryine) and Tracy Simmons (Steven Pittman); his brother Hulon Gene Simmons (Kay); his grandchildren, Mitchell Simpson (Cailee), Cory Simmons, Alicia Cowan (Jonathon) and Samuel Moore; and his great grandchildren, Ellie James Simpson, Emma Simpson, Jackson Simpson, Scarlett Harbert, Wyatt Owens and Liam Simpson.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Council on Aging, 1401 Skyway Dr. Monroe, NC 28110.
