He was predeceased by: his parents, Reyno Nichols and Geneva Berry Nichols; and his siblings, Kenneth, Larry Nichols and Sharon Starnes.

He is survived by: his wife Almeta Pyatte Nichols; and his siblings, Van Nichols, Janice and Joyce Nichols. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
