He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Garvine Franklin and Marie Franklin; his son Scott Franklin (Leon Hoover) of Hickory; his wife Roberta; his sons, Joseph Jr. (Anita) of Granite Falls and Kelly (Peggy) of Cornelius; his siblings, Shirley Ledford (Leon) of Icard and Jack Franklin (Nancy) of Hickory; his grandchildren, Oneita Murphy (Derek) of Hickory and Stephanie Setzer (Mitchell) of Lenoir; and his great grandchildren, Tate, Micah and Sadie. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews he loved.
